Easycogo Survey Program for the HP 35s
The Easycogo Survey Program contains simple, complete descriptions of all individual programs and easy step-by-step RPN mode instructions to enter all of the programs, which you won't need to do if you purchase the preprogrammed calculator. The entire Easycogo Survey Program is configured to display simple, obvious, survey English text messages for each piece of data before the appropriate data input prompt or output display, so you don't need to remember any obscure codes or values, as you can see in any of the program demo videos. Possibilities for application of the included programs are endless, though a brief summary of the program functionality is as follows:
- Menu of all included programs, listed in alphabetical order and automatically linked to the appropriate program. No more trying to remember which letter runs the program you need.
- Area By Coordinates and/or stored points for displaying the area within any coordinated figure bounded by lines. The perimeter of the figure (or length of traverse) is displayed, along with the area in square feet and acres. Also useful for determining areas of figures with curved sides when used with included horizontal curve calculator, or for finding the top and bottom areas of an odd shaped pond or pile for easy volume calculation by average end area (a pond/pile volume equation is available in the Easycogo Survey Equations).
- Azimuth (Any Angle) Add/Subtract is setup like a simple conversion tool to enable quick, multiple HMS format angle additions and/or subtractions with only a couple button presses.
- Traverse and Sideshot Horizontally by known bearing or turned angle (right or left with automatic recall or integrated inverse option for back azimuth) from known coordinates and/or stored points, displaying forward azimuth and coordinates and, if desired, carry trig levels with the included and integrated Slope Traverse program and store numbered points with Northing, Easting, and Elevation data. The included option to 'stay' or 'move up' easily enables traverse or sideshot type entries.
- Traverse and Sideshot Vertically within or without horizontal traverse with the optionally integrated Slope Traverse program for trig leveling, including input for reference elevation from stored points and instrument and rod height if desired, along with slope distance and zenith angle, displaying the horizontal distance and foresight point elevation. The included option to 'stay' or 'move up' easily enables traverse or sideshot type entries.
- Grades from reference or stored point elevation and stations or distances can be used to determine unknown elevations at any station or distance. Also useful for determining elevations from cross-section information or interpolating elevations along any grade from a known elevation.
- Horizontal Curve calculator for CIRCULAR CURVE and/or SPIRAL CURVE calculations.
Circular Curve displays virtually every aspect of the circular curve from only two known variables, the four optional combinations being: Radius and Internal Angle (Delta), Radius and Arc Length, Internal Angle and Arc Length, or Arc Length and Degree of Curvature. Displayed results include the radius, arc length, internal angle, tangent, long chord, PC to PT deflection angle from tangent, degree of curvature (arc definition), mid ordinate, external ordinate, and the areas within the sector, fillet and segment. View Demo
Spiral Curve displays virtually every aspect of the spiral curve from only the length of the spiral and the radius of the adjacent circular arc, including the spiral’s internal angle, A value (flatness), tangent distance to the SC, tangent offset of the SC, deflection angle from the tangent to the SC (tangent-chord angle), chord distance, long tangent distance, short tangent distance, tangent distance to the shifted circular PC, tangent offset to the shifted circular PC, and the velocity (speed) rating in MPH, with the option to display the full Spiral-Curve-Spiral (SCS) tangent length and all associated circular curve data as listed above, from only the SCS tangent deflection angle. - Complete Intersection Solutions including intersections from two known coordinates and/or stored points by Bearing-Bearing; Bearing-Distance; and Distance-Distance. If using azimuths, simple azimuth to bearing conversions can be done during the program with a few extra keystrokes. Coordinates of the intersection point or points are displayed and optionally stored. View Demo
- Inverse between known coordinates and/or stored points to display the bearing, distance and azimuth in the same direction the points are entered. The included option to 'stay' or 'move up' also enables easy traverse-type inversing or sideshot type stakeout of any number of coordinates and/or stored points by inversing a backsight for a reference azimuth, then inversing desired coordinates and/or stored points for forward azimuth and distance. Use with included Slope Traverse program for easy inclusion of elevation staking. View Demo
- Leveling tables can be easily completed by using a stored point or entering the reference mark elevation and successive back and fore rod readings, having the instrument height and turning point elevations successively displayed, along with the totals of + and - columns and the elevation difference from the original reference mark being displayed at each turn for easy error analysis.
- Numbered Points with Northing, Easting, and Elevation data (similar to PNEH format) can be stored, copied, edited, and viewed. No dealing with any complex numbers! All values are displayed as simple numbers, and many of the programs have integrated options to use and/or store point data. Approximately 350 points can be stored with the entire Easycogo Survey Program installed (250 points with Easycogo Survey Equations also installed, or 100 points with the complete set of Easycogo Survey and Hydrology-Hydraulics Programs and Equations.
- Polar Conversion that was left off of the HP 35s in its typical form is included in the Easycogo Survey Program for the HP 35s, with enhanced surveying functionality. Keeping with the theme of the Easycogo Survey Program, simple text prompts for vertical and horizontal distances result in a vertical angle (in HMS format instead of decimal degrees), and slope distance.
- Rectangular Conversion, also left off of the HP 35s in its typical form, is included in the Easycogo Survey Program for the HP 35s, with enhanced surveying functionality. Also keeping with the theme of the Easycogo Survey Program, simple text prompts for a vertical angle (in HMS format instead of decimal degrees) and slope distance result in vertical and horizontal distances.
- Complete Triangle Solutions for known Area-Angle-Angle; Angle-Side-Angle; Side-Angle-Angle; Side-Angle-Side; Side-Side-Angle; and Side-Side-Side. All Triangle sides and angles are displayed, along with the triangle area in square feet and acres. View Demo
- Vertical Curve information is easily displayed following input of basic curve parameters of curve beginning station and elevation (or use stored point elevation), in and out vertical tangent grades and length of curve. Information displayed includes the PVT station, PVI station and elevation, K value, high point station if a crest curve or low point station if a sag curve, followed by a repeating prompt for input of any station for display of its on-curve elevation and the grade of the curve at the entered station (useful for calculating appropriate in/out grades for return radii), the initial default being the high or low point station, as applicable. View Demo
- Volume of roadway or ditch cut or fill by station or distance, with the ability to enter multiple consecutive cross sections for more complex solutions. The length and volume (cubic feet and cubic yards) of each section is displayed, along with the accumulated length and volume (also in cubic feet and cubic yards). (uses average end area formula)
AS IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH: Much of the input and resultant data from most of the individual programs will be automatically saved and displayed for optional use in following appropriate input prompts within that program and other subsequently executed programs (until revised by another similar input or calculation), or for easy recall by the displayed alphabetical storage label, even if the calculator was turned off.
Real-world example: You used Inverse to determine the azimuth from point 1 to point 2 before being interrupted by a client. Now you are finally able to continue the job and decide to begin traversing from point 2 to point 3. Since point 3 was located by zenith and slope distance, you select the slope traverse option and enter the appropriate vertical data. You then select the Traverse Horizontal option, in which the prompt for a backsight reference azimuth will automatically display the azimuth from yesterday's inverse for optional acceptance, and the prompt for coordinates to traverse from will automatically show the coordinates of yesterday's input coordinates for point 2. Additionally, the prompt for the horizontal distance to point 3 will be automatically carried over from Slope Traverse and displayed for optional acceptance. Continuing the traverse to point 4 will have much of the appropriate information 'moved up' for easy acceptance and continued traversing.
